Below are some ideas to help set in motion, effective small groups for your church:
- Enlist spiritually mature people to host the group and facilitate the groups conversation.
- Allow each group to determine the time and frequency of their gatherings.
- Prepare the groups discussion notes from your Sunday Bible Studies. Create questions for them to answer. Give cross reference scriptures and ask the host to have others in the group look them up and read them.
- You can have your pastor record a greeting and a summary of the discussion, and have the host start off the small group meeting showing the video.
- You can have your worship leader record a song or two and edit that in to your pastors recording.
- When you inform your church about this ministry opportunity, be clear about why you are offering small groups, how they can sign up and what they could expect in a small group setting.
- Have your host follow up on those who sign up. A personal call introducing themselves, location, time and what to expect will be very well received.
